Grizzly Salmon Oil supplies a daily supplement rich in EPA and DHA – the right Omega-3 fatty acids. Your pet’s metabolism uses these nutrients immediately without any prior conversion. Plant-based omega-3 fatty acids, such as those found in flax seed, must be converted by your dog’s or cat’s body prior to use—an inefficient process that may result in as little as 5 % – 15 % of the fatty acids being actually metabolized.
Grizzly Salmon Oil is a sustainable Omega-3 solution: no fish is caught for the purpose of making oil. Instead, our Omega-3 oils are a co-product of the production of high quality seafood products for humans. This enables more of the fish to be utilized in a better way… for the benefit of our pets.
The diet of farmed salmon includes up to 15% vegetable oil, which significantly lowers the Omega-3 content in the resulting salmon oil. For this reason, it takes up to 40% more farmed salmon oil (resulting in 40% more calories) to achieve the same results as wild salmon oil.
Remember too, oil from Atlantic salmon is always farmed… the North Atlantic Salmon Conservation Organization (NASCO) prohibits commercial wild salmon fishing throughout the North Atlantic ocean.
Scientific research has shown that the optimum ratio of Omega-3 to Omega-6 balance falls in the range of 1:3 to 1:6 (Omega-3 : Omega-6) for optimum pet health. Unfortunately, many generic and even premium pet foods contain a much higher ratio of Omega-6s, falling between 1:10 and 1:20.
Grizzly Salmon Oil™ has a ratio of approximately 10:1 (Omega-3 : Omega-6), making it an excellent solution for adjusting the Omega-3 / Omega-6 ratio of your pet’s food to bring it into the target ratio of roughly 1:5.
Directions for Use: Grizzly Salmon Oil
Add daily to your pet’s food according to the weight chart below. For best results, use regularly on a long-term basis.
For 4 oz and 8 oz bottles: One pump stroke equals approximately 0.07 fluid ounces / 2 ml.
For 16, 32 and 64 oz bottles: One pump stroke equals approximately 0.12 fluid ounces / 3.5 ml.
